Your guide to a PROPOSAL photoshoot in LAKE COMO
In the recent years, more and more couples have asked us what is the cost of hiring the most iconic and luxurious villas in Lake Como for their wedding portraits or engagement sessions.
We have collated this guide to explain the costs and logistics for each of the villas individually.
DISCLAIMER: These costs were researched in early 2024, and although historically accurate, at the time of enquiry they may be different. We do not collect these fees on behalf of the venues, this is only a guide. Photography and videography costs are not included in this guide.

Villa Del Balbianello, Tremezzina Photoshoot Cost
There are three packages for photoshoot costs at Villa del Balbianello. During opening hours (everyday 10am to 6pm) the photoshoot fee at Villa Del Balbianello is €400 for non-wedding attire, and €600 if you’re wearing wedding attire. The downside is, there will be tourists around. If you would prefer privacy, a fee of €1,800 is payable for Monday and Wednesday evenings after 6pm, where you get access to all of the grounds, except indoors.
Some notable terms and conditions are as follows: You can take a maximum of 2 hours, there can be a no more than 10 people including yourselves and the photographers and videographers. You are restricted from walking on the grass, interrupting other visitors, or throwing confetti.
Arrival to the venue is most efficient through a private taxi boat, however access by foot is available during opening hours.
Villa CIPRESSI, VARENA Photoshoot cost
This is a truly stunning venue featuring botanical gardens with many of plant species, guaranteed to look stunning on your photoshoot. The photoshoots can only take place during opening hours, and must not disturb other guests. The costs for a photoshoot at Villa Cipressi are as follows:
€300 for two hours;
€600 for half a day; or
€800 for the full day.
Please note, on some days the gardens close early (at 2pm) to allow for weddings to take place. At Triple Fox, we will work together with you to find the perfect date and the most beautiful soft lights for your photos and video.
Villa CARLOTTA, TREMEZZINA Photoshoot cost
Villa Carlotta is well known for it’s rhododendrons and beautiful staircases, making it perfect for a photoshoot. The photoshoot costs are €400 for a two hour pass for the couple and their photographer/videographer. The tickets must be bought on the day, however we may be able to arrange it for you in advance.
Villa MELZI, BELLAGIO Photoshoot cost
Villa Melzi has gardens featuring statues, promenades and stunning architecture as a backdrop. The cost for a photoshoot at Villa Melzi is €300, and it’s valid for the whole day during opening hours (10am to 7pm). Tickets can be bought on the day.
Villa MONASTERO, VARENA Photoshoot cost
One of the most famous villas on Lake Como, this venue offers multiple photography packages, depending on how much exclusivity you desire. A photoshoot at Villa Monastero costs €300 during opening hours, or €1,000 if you’d like an area sectioned off exclusively for you, such as a balcony. If you’d like soft light and entire privacy, then you may hire the villa for €1,300 during closing hours. The downside to photoshoots at the villa, is that it can only last an hour. Rest assured, we have completed full photoshoots in under 30 minutes as we plan them in detail with our clients, so the time constraint is of no issue.
